Support for configuration of
Anti-Spam component (in AVG Internet Security)
The AVG Anti-Spam component (within AVG Internet Security Edition) is
designed to identify and mark emails that score beyond your selected
threshold value. This then allows to set your e-mail client program to
have a rule, which would move the spam messages on the application's
level. For example, you would set up a rule in your e-mail client in
which e-mails identified as spam by AVG would be delivered to a separate
mail folder named "spam" OR "junk". Thus, periodically you can sort and
delete spam messages which were moved to the 'Junk' folder using your
e-mail client. This gives you the opportunity to ensure that you
do receive any legitimate messages, which may have been
incorrectly identified as 'spam'. This is the best and
safest way to deal with the spam messages.
Warning: Spam filtering will never be 100%
accurate. You should routinely check the mailbox where you
are placing the suspected spam for legitimate messages that
were incorrectly filtered.
