Dial-up Connection
Problem: The download files can become corrupt if you are using a dial-up connection to attempt to download the AVG program. Due to the large size of the file (50+MB) and the instability in the dial-up connection, many times the file may appear to be stopped or paused and this could result in a corrupt file. We highly recommend a broadband connection for our AVG program downloads.
Answer: If you experience problems downloading, try using an alternate computer with a broadband connection (eg. a friend or work computer), and either burn onto a CDROM or download to a flash drive.

Please note that these download times are given as estimates.
Download times depend on several factors including but not limited to:
-
Your connection speed and the time of the day you are downloading;
-
The quality of your phone line;
-
Your geographical location and distance from the exchange;
-
Your modem speed;
-
Applications used and any other Internet activity on your PC. If you
continue to surf or you download multiple files at the same time, you will
slow down the downloads and increase download times;
-
Certain virus scanning software may slow your download by as much as four times. If you experience a substantially slower download rate than what you normally experience, you may want to temporarily disable any virus checking software. Once the file is completely downloaded, turn your virus scanning software back on, and scan the file before installation.
Your ISP and the bandwidth they have available for you; and
Internet congestion and worldwide Internet performance.
